Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
Townhouse Exeter, set in a beautifully renovated Victorian house, is often praised for its spacious and stylish rooms, some even offering lovely views, such as towards St David's Church. Breakfast delivered to the room is a commonly appreciated touch, and the hotel's location provides convenient access to Exeter's city centre and attractions like the quayside and cathedral. While the walk to the train station involves a hill, and some have found certain decor elements not entirely in sync with the building's style, guests frequently highlight the comfortable beds and overall value for money.

a mixed stay, some issues noticed

small room mold stain
the room was small. the heating did not seem to work well. i had to use an oil radiator and it took up too much space. also, i saw some mold stain on the wall, it was quite visible.

charmed by this stay

comfortable bed church view free parking lovely breakfast
my room had simple furnishings and provided ample space. the bed was comfortable. i had a lovely view into the back of st david's church. i parked for free overnight until 11 am after understanding the options, a small complication easily resolved. the continental breakfast was lovely and delivered right to the room.
parts of the room decor were not to my taste, particularly the shiny metal chairs, they felt a little out of sync with the style of the building.
Service
10/10
the owners were very cute. ken offered great dining recommendations. he promptly contacted me about a coat i left behind and allowed me to retrieve it, a gesture i found thoughtful.

the hotel had convenient access to two major stations and the airport bus stop. it was easy to walk to both the station and the town centre. the area around the hotel was very quiet.
Facilities
9/10
the room included nice filtered coffee bags, a radio, a tv, and pillow mist. i was given a fan to control the room temperature. the linen was pure cotton of high quality.
